We have a new adventure in the works! Chris Buchholz, Vice President, and Cynthia Abaco, Content Coordinator, have just returned from the beautiful island of Captiva. They spent two days with the Captiva Island Historical Society kicking off a new project with a preliminary meeting for fact-gathering and research, a trip we make for each new project!

Given one exhibit room in the Captiva Civic Association building, we will transform it into a replica of an old historic mail boat, capturing a beloved experience of Captiva’s past. Visitors will be completely immersed in the interior of the mail boat. The windows will house a series of interpretive panels, touchscreens, murals, and even a multi-screen historical video presentation. It is our hope and obligation to allow the visitors to feel as though they have just stepped back in time.

During Chris and Cindy’s trip, they had the chance to see the building renovations underway, and even caught a glimpse of a baby sea turtle release!  Design elements and content for the exhibit room have been planned, and the project team at Wilderness Graphics is ready to work.
