Materials, Products, & Equipment

How do you make your products?

We have over 40 years of experience in commercial printing and fabrication using state-of-the-art equipment. We source the highest quality materials and use our unique processes to print and fabricate our products. All woodworking and printing is done by hand, in-house in Tallahassee, Florida.

What is your printing process?

We specialize in UV flatbed printing for an array of applications. All of our in-house printing is done on our flatbed printer using UV-curable inks that are exposed to strong LED UV light to cure. This process allows for printing on a wide variety of surfaces including wood, aluminum, acrylic, PVC, and glass. The adjustable printed bed also makes it possible to print on surfaces ranging in thickness up to as much as 4”. After printing, all signs are covered in a clear-coat protectant.

How do I decide on a material for my printed sign?

All of our sign materials are durable when exposed to the elements and have various ways they can be used and mounted. PermPrint and HPL can be mounted within a frame, such as in a kiosk or mount, or without a frame such as attached directly to your building structure or boardwalk. PermPrint Lite and PolyPrint are only offered with frameless mounting through our online ordering system. At their available thicknesses, they can easily be attached to your surface with brackets and mounting screws but are too thick to fit within a frame for a kiosk or mount. If you would like to purchase a PermPrint Lite or PolyPrint sign in a different thickness, please submit a contact form or reach out to us at info@wgi.cc.

What is the difference between aluminum composite and aluminum?

Aluminum composite signs are made with two aluminum sheets bonded to a solid polyethylene core while aluminum signs are only made of a thin sheet of aluminum. The aluminum composite material is extremely eco-friendly as the core is entirely made up of recycled material.

What do rounded corners and mounting holes mean?

When ordering a sign, there are three options you can select from: Add Rounded Corners, Add Mounting Holes, or Add Rounded Corners & Mounting Holes. Mounting Holes are holes drilled into the panel for mounting to a building structure or boardwalk. Mounting Holes include one hole in each of the four corners of the panel. Rounded Corners refers to the corner shape of the panel. Signs come standard with a square corner, but if you would prefer a more finished look you can select Rounded Corners and we will round down each corner to your specifications.

Which is better: pressure-treated pine, cedar, or recycled plastic lumber?

All of our kiosk and mount materials are durable when exposed to the elements and have various ways they can be used. Pressure-treated pine is an industry standard that will be durable due to its chemical treatment for outdoor longevity. Cedar is not chemically treated—instead it is naturally resistant to moisture and insects as well as easy to stain or paint. This material is great for humid climates or areas receiving a high volume of rain each year. Recycled plastic lumber is the most durable of our materials: it can withstand extreme weather and is resistant to UV fading. It’s also very eco-friendly since it’s made of recycled plastics!

How do I decide on a roofing material?

Like all of our other products, our roofing materials are very durable, but they’re also interchangeable. When creating your perfect mount or kiosk, you can easily choose one of our three provided roofing options! Asphalt shingles are standard and are durable, versatile, and resistant to impacts or inclimate weather. Cedar shingles are naturally resistant to moisture and insects and offer a great “curb appeal” to your product. A metal roof is the most durable of our materials as it is long-lasting and very low maintenance over its lifespan.
